5 Days Fort Portal – Semuliki & Queen Elizabeth Park Tour

Day 1 : Transfer from Kampala to Fort Portal for Amabere caves and Crater Hikes

You shall be picked up early in the morning (6:00 am) from a selected location in Kampala with a drive towards fort portal via the mubende kamwenge road.
Along the way we shall drive through a number of towns, planation and scenic scenery and on arrival we are welcomed by a gigantic view of the Rwenzori Mountains. Have lunch in Fort portal town giving you a breezer from the road trip. You shall then check in at the hotel after lunch with a transfer to the ancient historical Amabere caves.
The cave is home to stalagmites and stalactites these are in form of breasts and them dripping white substance takes us back to the story of Nyinamwiru whose breasts were cut off and the rocks drippings showed nyinamwirus breasts. You will also sight a scenic rapid stream of water flowing just besides the cave.
Later on transfer to the community for your walk as you immerse in nature amidst the beautiful scenery and a number of wild life, birds as you embark on the walk. On this adventurous trip you see a number of crater lakes that offer a breath taking scenic views that are of memorable photogenic moments. With this walk through the community you come across tea plantation as you hike to the top of the hills it is termed “top of the world” because of the nature of fabulous view that awaits you.

Day 2 : Morning Visit to Sempaya Hot Springs & Afternoon at Leisure with Optional Activities

You will have breakfast early in the morning at your accommodation with a transfer to semuliki National park via Fort- Bundibugyo – Lamia road on a drive of about 2 hours. You shall check in at the park gates and later drive into the park to the point where the walk to the hot springs starts. It’s exciting to see the female hot springs also known as Sempaya hot springs and while here you shall boil eggs that boil at about 100 0 c and have a chance of eating one. The park is blessed with a number of primates and birds as well as rich vegetation cover and swamps. After the hot springs visit we shall drive back to Fort portal for lunch or stop over for lunch along the way.
As you refresh at the hotel midafternoon you may engage in a number of optional activities or leisure at the hotel at your own discretion.
You will have dinner and overnight at your accommodation.

Day 3 : Visit Mahoma Falls – Nature Walk with a Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will have breakfast early in the morning at the hotel and later on drive to Mahoma Falls which is a relaxing point to explore while in Fort Portal. You shall then return to the town for lunch and later transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park on a 1 to 2 hours drive. You shall check in at the park gates and later drive to the lodge that you booked with rest of the day at leisure at the lodge. Dinner will be served and you shall spend a night at the lodge as you wait for your next day wildlife safari experience.

Day 4 : Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise

You will have breakfast early in the morning at the lodge and proceed on your game drive through the park where a number of animals like elephants, buffalos, warthogs, kobs among others will be sighted on the game drive. If lucky you may see one of the big cats like the lion. Drive back to the lodge for early lunch, relax as you wait for your afternoon boat cruise on the kazinga channel where you shall see a number of animals on the shore taking water, a profusion of hippos and crocodiles as well as a number of bird species at the kazinga channel.
You shall drive back to the lodge via the scenic drive of the Kasenyi craters and this particular spot is good for photos. You will drive to the lodge for relaxation and later on have dinner and overnight.

Day 5 : Drive Back to Kampala with a stopover the Equator

Wake up on this day refresh and have a cup of tea and coffee and later drive back to Kampala via Mbarara where you shall have lunch with a stopover at the Equator and proceed to Kampala
